EAST PRESTON & KINGSTON CROWNED DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONS
EAST PRESTON — What a scorching summer it has been on the greens at East Preston and a season to remember. When the curtain fell on the 2026 Game Set & Match Ladies League, the club's formidable Blue Team had delivered their bowls with skill, consistency, and determination to capture the Division One championship in emphatic style.
Navigating a series of tactical challenges, the women’s squad played with admirable composure under the good-natured pressure of a very competitive local lawn bowls calendar. Securing the crown highlights a season defined by strength right down the roster and nerves of steel when it mattered most down the home stretch.
From the opening end of the campaign to the final, decisive bowl, the ladies proved to be an almost unstoppable force. Over a brilliant 12-match run, they secured an incredible 10 victories, suffering just a single defeat alongside 1 draw. That relentless form on the green culminated in an unassailable 60 points at the summit of the table.
Out on the rinks, the numbers tell the story of a truly dominant outfit. East Preston racked up an impressive 18 rink wins while restricting opponents to just 4 losses and 2 draws. Displaying an explosive attack paired with a watertight defence, they amassed 409 shots for against 278 against—finishing with an impressive shot differential of plus 131, by far the best in the division.
Club representatives were quick to praise the spirit of the local league, offering a massive thank you to the organisers and all the competing teams across the division. Bowling it out alongside local rivals including Witterings, Crablands Red, Middleton Blue, Norfolk, Maltravers, and Arundel, the season was celebrated as a thoroughly sporting, highly competitive, and thoroughly enjoyable showcase of the Arun region's top-tier bowls.
Huge congratulations to everyone at East Preston & Kingston Bowls Club on a truly historic championship-winning summer!
