Match Report: East Preston vs. Littlehampton

Date: Saturday, 14th March Venue: Home

It was a fantastic Saturday afternoon of bowls as East Preston welcomed our neighbours from Littlehampton for a 2:00 PM friendly short mat match. The atmosphere was fun with some lovely bowls making for a truly memorable friendly game.

East Preston had the home advantage securing an overall score of: East Preston 42 – 21 Littlehampton. While the scoreline favoured the home side, the matches were played with the kind of good natured camaraderie that defines this indoor sport.

As always, the competitive action on the mats was only half the story. The day concluded with a welcome cup of tea, providing everyone a chance to relax, catch up with old and new friends, and discuss the "near misses" of the afternoon. Beyond the final tally, it was the shared laughter and sporting spirit that made the day a resounding success. These friendly matches remind us why we play—not just for the competition, but for the friendships that grow long after the last bowl has been rolled.

A huge thank you to Littlehampton for being such excellent guests, John M our Captain of the Day, second skip Alan B for their hosting and to everyone who helped with the catering and setup. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable afternoon!
