Re-arranged AGM

The Management Committee have managed to find a suitable venue to hold our AGM, which will be at East Preston Infants School, Lashmare Road, East Preston BN161EZ on Wednesday 1st December at 7.00pm.

Clubhouse roof damage

During the night of Saturday 30th October, one of the several large trees on the edge of the adjoining property, was blown down by strong winds on to the Cluhouse roof causing severe damage not only to the roof but also to the gutter, wall, and internal fabric.  Removal of the tree trunk, repairs to the roof and building have been put in hand but are likely to take in the region of about a month to complete.  In the meantime the Club is trying to organise a temporary location to carry on with the Short Mat fixtures and roll ups.  The AGM on the 10th November has had to be postponed until a temporary venue can be arranged.  Further news of these alterations will be emailed to all members when known and will also appear, here, on this page.

For a photograph of the damage taken from the roof, go to the Gallery and click on "Clubhouse Damage", click on the photo to enlarge.  If required, this photo can be dowloaded to your computer/tablet etc. for printing/saving.

There were two further presentations made during the afternoon, for the Ladies and Mens Personality of the year.

The Lady Captain's nomination for the ladies personality of the year was presented to Ellen David for her willingness to put her name forward for all matches, entering all competitions whilst carrying out her role as Bar Manager and her catering role on the Social Committee. The presentation was made by Hazel Comber Ladies Captain.

Due to the continuing lack of Men's Captain, the Bowls Committee took on the role and nominated Ray Gibbs for agreeing to again take on the role of Competition Secretary in this the most difficult and challenging season and doing such a good job of it. The presentation was made by Bernard King, being a member of the Bowls Committee.
